Tania Corbett-Jones

Tania Corbett-Jones serves as a Research Fellow at the Centre for Genomics and Child Health within the Blizard Institute, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at Queen Mary University of London. She has been affiliated with Queen Mary since 2006, conducting collaborative research in bioinformatic pathway analysis, network modeling of experimental data, and karyotypic studies of human cell lines and primary tumors.

Her research specializes in molecular mechanisms driving pediatric low-grade gliomas (pLGG), with particular focus on comparing pilocytic astrocytomas harboring KIAA1549-BRAF fusions versus glioneuronal tumors with BRAF V600E mutations. Both aberrations activate MAPK signaling but produce distinct phenotypes. She employs integrated multi-omics approaches combining RNA sequencing, LncRNA arrays, and phospho-proteomic analysis with Kinase-Substrate Enrichment Analysis (KSEA) to dissect downstream signaling mechanisms. This work aims to identify critical molecular effectors and validate findings using isogenic models developed in her laboratory.

Publication trends reveal consistent progression from genetic characterization (2009-2011) toward sophisticated multi-omics integration (2015-2020), with increasing emphasis on epigenetic regulation and pathway crosstalk in pLGG. Her work spans molecular oncology, neurogenetics, and computational biology, primarily published in specialized journals like Acta Neuropathologica Communications and EMBO Reports.

Within the Centre for Genomics and Child Health, Dr. Corbett-Jones collaborates across research groups utilizing core genomic and proteomic facilities.
