Tania Chumaira is a doctoral student at the School of Arts, Design and Architecture, Aalto University. She holds a Master's degree in Architecture from University College London (2015) and a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from the University of Indonesia (2013). Past roles include Teaching Fellow at the University of Indonesia (2015–2016), Teaching Assistant at Xuzhou Institute of Technology (2015), and Researcher at the Interactive Architecture Lab (2014–2015). Her research focuses on virtual reality affordances, mixed-methods research, and tangible interaction design.
Key research interests include exploring how virtual environments influence human perception through affordances, with publications in journals like Cognitive Processing. She has also investigated light as a tangible material in architectural design. Awards include a Doctoral Dissertation Working Grant (2021), Doctoral Working Grant (2020), and Scholarship for Dissertation (2018).
