Tanguy Sandré is a Postdoctoral Researcher and Guest Researcher at the Centre for the Study of the Sciences and the Humanities (SVT) at the University of Bergen, Norway, and is affiliated with the CEARC Research Center at the University of Paris-Saclay, France. He holds a European Doctorate in Social Sciences and is actively involved in the ERC Advanced Grant projects SeMPER-Arctic and PREFER, which explore local responses to environmental and existential risks in Arctic communities.
His educational background includes a double master’s degree in climate change adaptation and Arctic studies, as well as training in sociology and heterodox economics. His research critically engages with themes of adaptation, resilience, epistemic injustice, and decolonial and gender studies, particularly in Indigenous Arctic contexts.
Tanguy’s scholarly work spans multiple formats, including academic articles, book chapters, films, exhibitions, and public presentations. His recent publications focus on local narratives of environmental change in Ittoqqortoormiit (Greenland), epistemic injustices in species management, and the ethics of representation in Arctic research. He employs transdisciplinary and participatory methodologies, often co-creating knowledge with Arctic communities.
His involvement in high-profile ERC-funded projects and collaborations with institutions across Europe and South Africa underscores his growing influence in critical environmental and social sciences. He has taught courses on Arctic challenges, vulnerability analysis, and knowledge mobilization at the University of Paris-Saclay.
