Taneesha Reynolds Douglas, a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) with advanced degrees in nursing and business administration, joined Bethel University in 2023 as a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Nursing within the College of Arts and Sciences. She combines her expertise in midwifery with a commitment to addressing health disparities and integrating spirituality into healthcare.

Her research focuses on maternal and infant health disparities, the midwifery model of care, and the role of spirituality in healthcare. She has contributed to the development of Nashville's only accredited out-of-hospital birthing center and has served over 500 families through childbirth care. Her recent publications explore holistic approaches to midwifery and medication safety during pregnancy.
Dr. Douglas also emphasizes global health through a mission trip to Kampala, Uganda, and teaches courses on nurse-midwifery practice, including intrapartum care, newborn care, and professional issues in nursing.
