Tamàs Hajdut

Dr. Tamàs Hajdut is a Hungarian biological anthropologist and Associate Professor at the Department of Biological Anthropology, Faculty of Science, Eötvös Loránd University. He also serves as Head of the Department since 2022 and holds a Scientific Associate position at the Centre for Applied Bioanthropology in Zagreb, Croatia. His work bridges biological anthropology, archaeology, and genetics through multidisciplinary approaches.

• MSc in Biology (2006) and PhD in Biology (2012) from Eötvös Loránd University
• Habilitation in Biology (2021) at Eötvös Loránd University

Dr. Hajdut specializes in:

• Biological anthropological analysis of ancient human remains
• Paleopathology (infectious diseases, skeletal stress markers)
• Migration studies through osteology and archaeogenomics
• Stable isotope analysis for lifestyle reconstruction
• Human evolution and subsistence strategies

His research includes ERC Synergy Grant projects on Eastern Central Europe (400–900 AD) and collaborations on Neanderthal legacy studies. Key publications address tuberculosis, leprosy, and stature variation in ancient populations.
