Tamsin Kimoto

Tamsin Kimoto is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Women, Gender, & Sexuality Studies at Washington University in St. Louis. Previously, they held an Assistant Professorship in Philosophy and WGSS at Goucher College. Their work bridges queer/trans of color studies, abolition, and continental philosophy.

Research Interests: Kimoto focuses on radical trans of color aesthetics through histories of racial science and trans medicine, and links Asian American feminisms with anti-carceral politics. Their current projects explore transpacific objectification practices and anti-Asian violence.

Publications: Their work appears in journals like Revue International de Philosophie and books such as Asian American Feminisms and Women of Color Politics (2018) and The Biopolitics of Punishment: Derrida and Foucault (2022).
