Tammie Barnes serves as a Part Time Limited Term Faculty member and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences at Columbus State University, while concurrently working as a CTAE Healthcare Science Teacher at Paulding County High School in Dallas, Georgia.
Her professional expertise spans Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Health & Physical Education, and Online Learning methodologies. With dual roles in higher education and K-12 instruction, she bridges academic theory with practical healthcare science education. Her background includes U.S. Army service as a Sergeant and volleyball coaching experience.
Dr. Barnes holds an M.Ed. and Master of Health Science (MHS) from Columbus State University (2006), complemented by Industry Certified CTAE credentials in Kinesiology and Sports Medicine. Her teaching philosophy integrates military discipline, athletic training principles, and contemporary online education techniques to prepare students for healthcare careers.
Current professional activities focus on curriculum development for healthcare science education and implementation of online learning strategies in kinesiology instruction. Her work emphasizes practical application of exercise science principles in secondary and post-secondary educational settings.
