Prof. Dr. Tamer YAVUZ is a full-time Professor at Ahi Evran University's Faculty of Agriculture, specializing in Field Crops with a focus on Meadow-Pasture and Forage Crops. He holds a PhD (2011) and MSc (1999) in Field Crops from Gaziosmanpaşa University and a BSc (1995) from the same institution.
His research centers on forage production systems, rangeland ecology, and crop improvement. Key interests include optimizing legume-cereal mixtures, evaluating drought-resistant forage varieties, and developing sustainable pasture management strategies. His work integrates field experiments with ecological surveys to enhance fodder quality and grassland biodiversity.
YAVUZ has led 26 projects, including the long-term Roughage Production Project (2018–2027) and studies on alfalfa/triticale performance. His publications emphasize yield optimization, antifungal plant extracts, and rangeland rehabilitation, reflecting applied solutions for arid-region agriculture.
He has supervised 8 graduate students (7 Master’s, 1 PhD) on topics like Hungarian vetch-triticale mixtures and rangeland improvement efficacy. Administrative roles include Department Head (2012–2015) and Faculty Board membership (2021–2024).
