Tamara Kamatovic is a Lecturer at the Yehuda Elkana Center for Teaching, Learning, and Higher Education Research at Central European University (CEU). She designs courses and facilitates workshops for doctoral students and faculty, focusing on inclusive teaching, research-enriched pedagogy, and technology-enhanced learning. She co-directs the OSUN Developing Teaching Professionals Project and organizes the Annual Elkana Symposium.
Education: PhD in German Studies (University of Chicago), MA in German Studies (University of Chicago), BA in German & French (University of Missouri Kansas City).
Research interests include the relationship between civic education and democratic teaching practices, the impact of emerging technologies on education (e.g., generative AI, data analytics), and interdisciplinary approaches to educational challenges. She has co-authored work on online teaching modalities and is leading a global book project compiling best practices in inclusive teaching.
In 2023, her work on inclusive education earned an invitation to the Salzburg Global Seminar, where she founded a working group examining civic education through the lens of disengaged youth. She collaborates across disciplines and global institutions, advocating for urgent, adaptive educational interventions in rapidly changing contexts.
