Tamar Nir is a Lecturer in the Department of European & International Studies at King's College London, affiliated with the Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy. Her work bridges sociological theory and higher education policy.
Education:
- MSc in Contemporary Social Thought (Sociology), London School of Economics and Political Science
- BA in Sociology and Anthropology, Tel Aviv University
Research Focus: Tamar's research applies contemporary theoretical frameworks like poststructuralism, critical posthumanism, and new materialism to analyze the political economy of higher education, particularly the marketisation of value and rising student debt in the UK sector.
Supervisors: Her doctoral research is supervised by Professor Johnna Montgomerie and Dr Christopher Holmes.
Location: Based in the Virginia Woolf Building (22 Kingsway, London, WC2B 6NR), with office hours on Thursdays from 16:15 to 17:15.
