Talitha Dubow is a migration researcher at UNU-MERIT and Maastricht University, where she conducts research and teaches on migration, decision-making, and policy impacts. She holds a PhD from Maastricht University and is actively involved in policy-relevant research projects with international organizations.

Her research focuses on migrant decision-making, particularly among irregular migrants, and the effects of immigration policies on migration trajectories, return, and reintegration. She employs qualitative methods and research design in her work, with strong emphasis on human rights, vulnerability, and development. Her interdisciplinary approach spans governance, gender, and inequality in migration contexts.
The recent publications reflect a consistent focus on migration decision-making across the lifecycle, return processes, and qualitative research methodologies. Her work bridges academic research and policy implementation, often in collaboration with EU and international bodies.
She has contributed to several funded research initiatives and policy studies, including projects with the European Commission, IOM, WFP, GIZ, and WODC. Her teaching includes course coordination in research design and the Migration Lifecycle, along with thesis supervision and guest lectures at the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels.
Talitha coordinates the UNU Migration Network and has led trainings for migration policymakers and practitioners. She is affiliated with the MACIMIDE research consortium, contributing to annual conferences and collaborative knowledge dissemination.
