Takehisa Dewa is a Professor at the Department of of Life and Applied Chemistry in the Graduate School of Engineering at Osaka Prefecture University, Japan. His research focuses on photosynthetic systems, membrane protein engineering, and biohybrid nanodevices. He is affiliated with multiple professional societies including the International Society of Photosynthesis Research and American Chemical Society.
- International Society of Photosynthesis Research (2024–present)
- The Japanese Photochemistry Association (2021–present)
- The Japanese Society of Photosynthesis Research (2011–present)
- American Chemical Society (2005–present)
Dewa's research explores supramolecular assembly of photosynthetic antenna complexes, ultrafast energy transfer dynamics, and functional coupling with reaction centers. Recent studies investigate biohybrid systems combining natural photosynthetic complexes with artificial chromophores in lipid membranes, alongside medical applications like lipid nanoparticle drug delivery for sepsis therapy.
Key grants include a Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (B) (2021–2024) on biohybrid photosynthetic antenna systems. He has presented internationally on topics like photosynthetic energy transfer and nanobiodevice engineering.
