Tajinder Ubhi is a Researcher affiliated with the Pellman Lab at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard University. Their work focuses on mechanisms of genome instability and DNA replication stress in cancer biology. Ubhi holds a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Toronto (2023) and a Honors BSc in Biochemistry and Physiology from the same institution (2018).
Research Interests: Ubhi’s studies investigate how cancer cells adapt to DNA replication stress, with a focus on APOBEC enzymes, ATR inhibition pathways, and genetic vulnerabilities in pancreatic cancer. Techniques include genetic mapping of DNA damage responses and functional genomic screening.
Key Publications (2019–2024): Ubhi has contributed to high-impact studies on cancer therapeutics, including work on FBXW7 gene loss sensitivities and APOBEC-mediated resistance mechanisms. Recent research explores APOBEC3 proteins’ roles in pancreatic cancer resilience.
- Awards: Helen Hay Whitney Fellowship (2024), Outstanding PhD Thesis Award (2023), Multiple CIHR and University of Toronto grants (2018–2022)
Labs/Teams: Core member of the Pellman Lab’s Cell Division and Genome Instability group, collaborating with institutions including the University of Toronto and Harvard Medical School.
