Taija Mäkinen is a Professor at Uppsala universitet's Department of Biochemistry and Developmental Biology. Previously, she held roles at the Cancer Research UK London Research Institute and Uppsala universitet, including Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor (2013–2019). Her research focuses on lymphatic and vascular biology, particularly mechanisms of endothelial cell specification and disease modeling.
