Dr. Taichi Takayama is a Visiting Scholar (2017-18) at the US-Asia Technology Management Center, Stanford University, and currently serves as a visiting researcher at the University of Tokyo. He works as a consultant for Mitsubishi Research Institute, Inc., and has advised the Japanese government on wireless telecommunication, aerospace, and UAV policy development and international standardization activities.
His educational background includes:
- Bachelor's degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering from the University of Tokyo
- Master's degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering from the University of Tokyo
- Ph.D. in Engineering (specializing in computer vision for satellite/airborne imagery) from the University of Tokyo
Dr. Takayama's research centers on computer vision applications for satellite, airborne, and UAV-acquired imagery in forest and agriculture monitoring, with expertise in hyperspectral data analysis. His current work focuses on disruptive innovation through AI-hardware sensor fusion in aerospace, IoT, and mobility systems, driving advancements in UAV technology and international standards development.
