Tahlia Alsop is a Research Fellow at the School of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences, The University of Queensland. Her work focuses on understanding movement behaviors across diverse populations, including children, adults with chronic conditions like myasthenia gravis, and hospitalized patients.

Research Interests center on movement behavior change, sedentary behavior epidemiology, and health promotion in both pediatric and neuromuscular contexts. She investigates how physical activity patterns relate to adiposity in children, develops lifestyle interventions for diabetes patients, and explores healthcare provider roles in promoting activity for hospitalized adults.
Publication Trends reveal collaborations with multidisciplinary teams across institutions, with recent articles in Obesity Reviews, British Journal of Sports Medicine, and Journal of Neuromuscular Diseases. Themes include compositional data analysis of 24-hour movement behaviors, patient perspectives on physical activity advice, and workplace health promotion frameworks.
Current Funding includes a Y Queensland Open grant supporting research on physical activity's impact for people living with and beyond cancer. She actively supervises higher-degree research students and contributes to clinical practice guidelines through international consensus statements.
