Tahiru Liedong is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) at the University of Bath, affiliated with the Management Strategy & Organisation Centre within the School of Management. He holds the role of Director of Studies for the MSc International Management program. His research focuses on nonmarket strategy, corporate political strategies, and institutional environments in emerging markets, particularly in Africa. Liedong is also part of the Centre for Business, Organisations and Society (CBOS).
His expertise includes analyzing how corporate political strategies and CSR initiatives impact multinational enterprises, as well as exploring business-government dynamics. He actively contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals through his research. Liedong has published over 47 research outputs, including peer-reviewed articles in journals like Journal of Management Inquiry and International Small Business Journal.
Recent articles highlight themes such as social identity’s role in political markets, informal sector transitions, and the influence of institutional religiosity on finance accessibility. His work bridges theoretical frameworks like institutional theory and dependency theory with practical insights from emerging economies.
Liedong supervises doctoral students in nonmarket strategy and international business, emphasizing topics like political risk, corporate political activity, and dynamic political capabilities. His research often addresses ethical dimensions of political strategies and governance challenges in Africa.
