Taha Ahsin is an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Katz Graduate School of Business, University of Pittsburgh. He holds a Ph.D. in Finance from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, an M.S. in Statistics from The George Washington University, and a B.A. in Mathematics from Haverford College, where he graduated cum laude.

His research focuses on corporate finance, financial intermediation, and real estate, with a particular emphasis on collateral repossession, secondary mortgage markets, and strategic default. His working papers analyze creditor behavior under costly or uncertain collateral enforcement, lender responses to regulatory changes, and the economic impact of delayed debt sales.
Taha’s work has been presented at leading academic conferences including the 4th Conference on Law & Macroeconomics (Yale), Financial Management Association Annual Meeting, and World Finance Conference. He received recognition as a MFA Doctoral Symposium Finalist (2022) and SFA Doctoral Student Paper Runners-Up (2022).
He teaches courses in investment management, corporate finance, venture capital, and econometrics at the University of Pittsburgh and Duke University. His instructional experience spans Ph.D., MBA, MA, and BA levels, with a focus on practical applications of statistical methods and derivatives.
