Tadeusz Mazurek is a Teaching Professor in the Department of Classics at the University of Notre Dame, serving as Director of Undergraduate Studies since 2023. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (1997) and a B.A. from Yale University (1985). His research focuses on Roman law, religion, and self-rule, with notable work on legal terminology in Horace’s Satires and ancient voting procedures. He coordinates a hybrid Latin program tied to Wheelock’s textbook.
Dr. Mazurek teaches courses such as Roman Law and Governance, Ancient Democracy, and Greek and Latin Language. His service roles include leadership in the Notre Dame London Program (1997–2003), committee work on curricula and majors/minors, and advising the Classics Club. He has received the Joyce Teaching Award (2013) and CAMWS Stewart Award (1993).
His professional contributions include refereed articles on Roman legal history, invited book reviews for major journals, and conference presentations on topics like ancient voting systems and Latin pedagogy. He has also served as a liaison for technology, international programs, and interdisciplinary centers.
