Tabitha Kabora is an Associate Lecturer in the Department of Environment & Geography at the University of York, specializing in environmental modelling and archaeology. Her research integrates interdisciplinary approaches to study human-environment interactions over the Holocene and Anthropocene, focusing on biodiversity, sustainability, and agent-based models.
Education:
- PhD in Archaeology, University of York
- MSc in Biology of Conservation, University of Nairobi
- BSc in Environmental Conservation, University of Nairobi
Research interests include historical agricultural systems in East Africa, landscape modifications, and the impact of human activities on biodiversity. She has collaborated globally on projects such as the AHRC-NERC funded 'Activating the Archive' to explore colonial-era environmental histories through museum collections.
Teaching focuses on undergraduate and postgraduate modules covering ecosystem management, climate change, and socio-ecological modelling. She previously led the 'Ecosystem Management and Conservation' module and contributed to masters-level sustainability courses.
Labs/Teams: Collaborates with researchers in the UK, Tanzania, Kenya, the Netherlands, and Ethiopia on interdisciplinary environmental projects.
