T.M. Tyranowski is an Assistant Professor (UD-1, with tenure) in the Mathematics of Computational Science (MACS) group at the University of Twente, Netherlands, within the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science (EEMCS). He is also affiliated with the Applied Mathematics department, MESA+ Institute, and TechMed Centre.
His research lies at the intersection of computational mathematics and data-driven modeling, focusing on developing advanced numerical methods that preserve structural properties of dynamical systems. His work integrates geometric integration, stochastic integration, and machine learning to create robust algorithms for both deterministic and stochastic systems.
His research has broad applications in plasma physics (especially collisional Vlasov-Maxwell equations), fluid dynamics, molecular dynamics, and astrophysics. Though no publications are listed, his expertise suggests a strong focus on mathematical modeling, numerical analysis, and high-performance scientific computing.
He has held research positions at Imperial College London (2014–2017) and the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics (2017–2023). He is currently completing his Habilitation at the Technical University of Munich, indicating an ongoing commitment to academic advancement.
T.M. Tyranowski advises students and conducts research within the MACS group. While specific grants are not mentioned, his affiliations with MESA+ and TechMed suggest involvement in interdisciplinary, technology-driven research projects.
He is active in multiple research environments, including:
