Kenan Niu

Dr. Kenan Niu is an Assistant Professor in the Robotics and Mechatronics (RAM) Group at the University of Twente, Netherlands, since May 2022. He holds affiliations with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science (EEMCS), the TechMed Centre, and the Digital Society Institute.

Dr. Niu's research focuses on robotic imaging and smart sensing, with applications in robotic orthopedic surgery, ultrasound imaging, and biomechanical modeling. His work bridges medical image processing, computer vision, and surgical navigation.

He has contributed to major research projects such as FWO-RadarSpine, H2020-FAROS, and ICON-DIASTOLE, focusing on dynamic 4D heart modeling and robotic-assisted surgical systems.
