معرفی
T. Bucky Jones is a Professor in the Department of Anatomy at Midwestern University, holding cross-college appointments in the College of Graduate Studies, College of Dental Medicine, Arizona College of Optometry, and Arizona College of Podiatric Medicine. She joined the university in 2008 as an Assistant Professor, earned tenure and promotion to Associate Professor in 2013, and became a full Professor in 2019.
Education:
- Ph.D. in Neuroscience from The Ohio State University (2004)
- M.S. from Washington State University (1998)
- B.A. from the University of Washington (1984)
Research Focus: Dr. Jones investigates neuroinflammatory mechanisms in CNS trauma and neurodegenerative diseases using Drosophila melanogaster models and human post-mortem tissues. Her work centers on reactive oxygen species (ROS) and nitric oxide (NO) pathways in Traumatic Brain Injury, spinal cord injury, Alzheimer's disease, and Parkinson's disease. She examines how infectious processes trigger AD pathology and leverages evolutionarily conserved immune pathways across species.
Publication Trends: Her research demonstrates conserved neuroimmune responses from Drosophila to mammals, with emphasis on lymphocyte behavior in spinal cord injury and glial activation patterns. Work spans molecular mechanisms (ROS/NO signaling) to clinical implications for neurodegenerative disorders.
Teaching Leadership: As Course Director for Anatomical Sciences I (ANATG 1516/1517) and II (ANATG 1526/1527), she instructs across Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and Doctor of Podiatric Medicine programs, with documented teaching activity through May 2025.
