Sławomir Kursa is a Professor at SWPS University's Faculty of Law in Warsaw, serving as Vice-Dean for Teaching and Dean's Representative for Student Internships within the Department of Roman and Comparative Law at the Institute of Law.
His research focuses on private law, civil law, Roman law, and comparative law with specialized expertise in inheritance law and real estate law. Current research examines modern forms of wills, reflecting his deep engagement with evolving legal frameworks in testamentary practices.
Professor Kursa has received significant recognition including:
- Award from the Rector of the University of Warmia and Mazury
- Award from the Rector of SWPS University
- Award from the Deans of the Faculty of Law in Warsaw
- Award from the President of the Republic of Poland
He maintains an extensive international academic presence with over 100 conference participations and research collaborations at institutions including University of Bari (Italy), Paris 2-Panthéon-Assas (France), Sydney School of Law (Australia), and Jaume I University (Spain). His visiting professorships span Dagon University (Myanmar), Ateneo de Manila University (Philippines), AAB College (Kosovo), and University of Macerata (Italy). As editor of the law section for "Civitas et Lex" journal and member of EUROFUR and AIDROM associations, he actively shapes legal scholarship. His professional practice as a legal advisor concentrates on inheritance law, real estate law, and business entity obligations.
