Søren Friis Hansen is a Professor at the Department of Business Humanities and Law (CBS Law) at Copenhagen Business School (CBS). He holds academic leadership roles, including membership in the study board for Cand.merc.aud. programs and subject responsibility for courses in Corporate Law, Commercial Law, and Capital Companies. His research focuses on corporate law (partnerships, limited partnerships, public/private limited companies, foundations), the interplay between national company law and tax law, and the relationship between Danish law and EU law, particularly in tax matters.
He has authored numerous books and peer-reviewed contributions, including Danish Corporate Law series and works on EU tax treaty case law. His recent publications (2022-2024) address topics like sustainable corporate due diligence, beneficial ownership in tax treaties, and EU legal frameworks for philanthropy. He advises on legal matters for entities like Danish Milk Producers and The Royal Fostering House, and lectures at institutions such as Riga Graduate School of Law.
He has served as a legal advisor, board member, and reviewer for legal texts, demonstrating expertise in practical and academic legal applications. His work bridges corporate law theory with real-world regulatory challenges in Denmark and the EU.
