Sérgio Deodato is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences and Nursing and the Lisbon Nursing School, both part of Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP). He is also a researcher at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Health (CIIS), where he contributes to interdisciplinary health research. He holds a PhD in Ethical Decision in Nursing and has a dual academic background in law and nursing, reflecting his interdisciplinary expertise.

He frequently employs qualitative methods like content analysis and literature reviews, and his work appears in journals such as Clinical Ethics, Rev Rene, and International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health.
