Szabolcs Czifrus is an Associate Professor and Director of the Department of Nuclear Energy at the Technical University of Budapest. He has held the director position since 2014 and remains actively engaged in teaching and research.

His research focuses on the application of Monte Carlo methods to reactor physics, shielding calculations, and medical physics. Additional areas of interest include thermohydraulics, radiochemistry, nuclear equipment development, radiation protection, and fusion research. Szabolcs has authored or co-authored over 60 scientific publications and nearly 100 research reports. His work bridges theoretical and applied nuclear science, emphasizing computational techniques and interdisciplinary applications.
