معرفی
Sylvie Ducas is Professor of Contemporary French Literature at the University of Paris Est-Créteil, affiliated with the LIS (Literature, Ideas, Knowledge) laboratory. She serves as Head of the 'Poetics and Rhetoric of Texts' research axis and maintains active collaborations with the CSLF (Center for Sciences of Literature in French) at Paris-Nanterre University.
Her research focuses on 20th-21st century French narrative poetics, examining authorial identity in works by Houellebecq, Ernaux, and Volodine. Key interests include literary prize economies, author branding in digital culture, bestseller industry mechanics, and transitions from print to digital literary production. She investigates how amateur writing practices and cultural mediation reshape contemporary literary landscapes.
Recent publications reveal consistent exploration of cultural consecration mechanisms and market-literature interfaces, with increasing attention to pandemic-era writing and digital transformation. Her work spans monographs, edited volumes, and critical analyses of contemporary authors.
Ducas actively organizes major academic events including Cerisy conferences on bestsellers, international SHARP gatherings on book history, and summer universities addressing heritage transmission and confined writing. She contributes to global scholarly networks through SHARP (Society for the History of Authorship, Reading and Publishing) and the International Association of Scholars in Popular Literature and Media Culture.
