Ms. Sylvia Birgit Schütze is a Scientific Associate at the Faculty of Education, University of Bielefeld, affiliated with AG 4 – School Development and School Research, and the Academic Institution Oberstufen-Kolleg. She contributes to editorial and research services for publications such as PFLB, DiMaWe, WE-OS Yearbook, HLZ, and book projects.
Her research interests include Historical Educational Research, Textbook and Educational Media Analysis, and Teacher Training. She has been actively involved in the DFG project on Friedrich Adolph Wilhelm Diesterweg, focusing on his works and letters. Her expertise lies in the historical development of educational systems and pedagogical thought.
Ms. Schütze holds editorial and management roles in several academic journals, including Die Deutsche Schule, WE_OS-Jahrbuch, PraxisForschungLehrer*innenBildung, and HLZ – Challenge of Teacher Training, where she serves as co-editor, managing director, and editor. She also contributes to the Center for Theories in Historical Research.
She is a member of multiple academic societies:
