Sylvia Beyer is Professor of Psychology at University of Wisconsin-Parkside, with a PhD from University of Oregon (1991). Her research examines gender disparities in STEM fields, self-perception biases, and social stereotyping. She received a $430K NSF grant and multiple teaching awards including the Stella Gray Teaching Award.
Beyer's publications analyze gender-based barriers in computer science education and workplace discrimination patterns. Her recent work investigates political attitudes' impact on social stereotyping among college students.
