Sylvain MAX is an Associate Professor and Head of the Economy and Social Sciences (ESS) Department at Burgundy School of Business (BSB), specializing in organizational behavior, decision sciences, and gender studies. His academic leadership oversees the Decisions and Behaviors research team focused on organizational transformation.
His research spans stereotype threat in educational settings, gender dynamics in organizational behavior, and pandemic-induced workplace transformations. Recent work examines how grammatical gender affects pandemic perception, the role of Miss France as a math role model for girls, and post-COVID telework normalization as a social achievement. His methodological approach combines experimental economics, social psychology, and field studies in educational and corporate environments.
MAX's 65+ publications include high-impact journal articles in Learning and Instruction, Journal of Economic Psychology, and Sex Roles, alongside frequent media contributions to Le Bien Public, The Conversation, and 20 Minutes.
