معرفی
Sylvain Joubaud is a Lecturer in the Physics department at École normale supérieure de Lyon (ENS de Lyon). He returned to ENS de Lyon in 2009 after completing a post-doctorate program at the University of Twente as a Visiting Professor. His research focuses on experimental studies of nonlinear phenomena in fluid dynamics, particularly internal waves, turbulence, and multiphase flows. He has pioneered work on triadic resonance instability in internal waves and their role in ocean mixing, as well as bubble plume dynamics in dense suspensions.

- Former student of ENS de Lyon (2002)
- Thesis: 'Fluctuations in non-equilibrium systems' under Sergio Ciliberto and Nicolas Garnier.
Research Interests:
- Hydrodynamics of granular media
- Internal wave turbulence and energy cascades
- Multiphase flow dynamics (e.g., bubble plumes)
- Experimental models for geophysical fluid dynamics.
Awards:
- Junior member of the Institut Universitaire de France (IUF), 2018
- CNRS Excellence Chair, 2009
Teaching & Leadership:
- Coordinator of physics internships at ENS de Lyon
- Responsible for FEADéP’s Master’s degree (preparation for the agrégation in Physics)
- Principal investigator of the Labex IMust project 'PlumeX' studying plume dynamics in suspensions.
Labs & Collaborations:
