Sydney Brown is Professor in the College of Education and Dean of the GBP School of Graduate Studies at Gardner-Webb University. She holds BA, MEd, and PhD degrees from UNC-Chapel Hill, specializing in curriculum and educational change.
As Doctoral Program Coordinator, she oversees curriculum/instruction initiatives and chairs dissertation research. Scholarship examines teacher agency, school culture, and community engagement through qualitative/ethnographic approaches.
Recipient of Gardner-Webb's Outstanding Graduate Faculty Award. Authored publications on school readiness discourse, graduate education experiences, and community-based arts programming.
Teaches across doctoral and master's programs in curriculum/instruction and teacher leadership.
