Sybille Unsicker

Prof. Dr. Sybille Unsicker is a Professor in the Department of Biochemistry at Kiel University, leading the Plant-Environment Interactions research group within the Botanical Institute, and maintains a collaborative affiliation with the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Ecology in Jena.

Her research centers on chemical ecology and biochemical mechanisms of plant-environment interactions, with specific emphasis on plant-insect dynamics (including aphids and forest beetles), plant-pathogen relationships, detoxification processes, and conifer defense strategies.
