Syam P Nukavarapu

Syam P Nukavarapu is a Professor and Department Chair of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Connecticut (Storrs campus). He directs the Tissue Engineering Science and Technology Laboratory (TEST Lab), which focuses on developing biomaterial-based solutions for tissue repair and regeneration. His research integrates engineering and biological principles to address challenges in human health.

Research Interests: The TEST Lab prioritizes three areas: (1) Novel biomaterials/engineered structures, (2) In vitro cell culture systems for studying cell-material interactions, and (3) Bioreactor technologies to accelerate tissue regeneration. The lab's overarching mission is to engineer functional tissues and interfaces to advance biomedical knowledge.
