Dr. Swayamshree Mishra is a Research Associate at the School of Social Sciences, Lancaster University, where she focuses on food security, sustainable development, and social policy. Her work emphasizes evidence-based approaches to addressing hunger and inequality.
Her research interests include:
- Food security and intrahousehold dynamics in low- and middle-income countries
- Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG2: Zero Hunger
- Lifecourse outcomes of food insecurity
- Social policy and governance frameworks
Her sole recent publication (2023) analyzes UK policy efforts toward achieving Zero Hunger, reflecting a consistent focus on interdisciplinary research bridging social sciences, public policy, and sustainable development.
She is actively engaged in the project "FLF: Food Insecurity, Intrahousehold Dynamics, and Lifecourse Outcomes in Low- and Middle-Income Countries" (October 2020 - December 2024), investigating household-level impacts of food scarcity across generations.
