Swathi Devireddy

Swathi Devireddy is a Research Fellow at the School of Biology, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram. She holds a Ph.D. from Purdue University and completed postdoctoral research at Yale University School of Medicine.

Her research focuses on lysosomal storage disorders, specifically the cell biological basis of these conditions and therapeutic interventions. She investigates how genetic mutations disrupt lysosomal and mitochondrial pathways, leading to diseases like frontotemporal dementia.

Her recent publications highlight studies on progranulin-lysosome interactions, mitochondrial transport regulation in C. elegans and Drosophila, and murine models for neurodegenerative diseases. Collaborative work spans molecular neuroscience and protein trafficking mechanisms.
