Swatah Borkotoky

Swatah Borkotoky is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Virginia, joining the department in Fall 2023. He works under the Schiro group and is co-advised by Prof. Kevin Grise as part of his UVA Environmental Institute Climate Fellowship.

His research focuses on reconstructing extreme precipitation patterns and atmospheric rivers using tree-ring-based moisture proxies, with a particular emphasis on hydroclimatic variability in the southeastern United States and its implications for water availability and storage. This work bridges paleoclimate analysis with modern climate change projections.
