Svetomir N. Markovic

Svetomir N. Markovic, M.D., Ph.D., is a Professor of Medicine and Professor of Oncology at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, where he serves as a Consultant in the Division of Medical Oncology, Department of Oncology, with joint appointments in the Department of Immunology and the Division of Hematology. He is based in Rochester, Minnesota, and is a leading expert in translational immunotherapeutics for advanced cancers, particularly malignant melanoma and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Research Interests:
Dr. Markovic's research is centered on developing more effective and less toxic therapies for advanced cancers. His work includes:

• Development and clinical testing of cancer vaccines
• Discovery of agents that boost anti-tumor immunity
• Integration of combination therapies to enhance immune responses
• Understanding immune evasion mechanisms in cancer

Grohne Cancer Immunology and Immunotherapeutics Program.
