معرفی
Svetlana Shabala is an Associate Professor and Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at the School of Biological Sciences, The University of Western Australia. Her research focuses on plant stress physiology with particular emphasis on salt and drought tolerance mechanisms in various plant species.
Her research interests include plant stress physiology, salt tolerance, drought tolerance, ion transport mechanisms, wild rice genetics, oats stress responses, and ROS homeostasis. Her work often examines how plants adapt to harsh environmental conditions through physiological and molecular mechanisms.
Analysis of her recent publications reveals a strong focus on understanding salinity tolerance mechanisms in wild rice species (particularly Oryza coarctata) and stress responses in oats (Avena sativa). Her research employs genome-wide analyses to identify key molecular players in stress adaptation, with particular attention to ion transporters, transcription factors, and antioxidant systems.
Her collaborative work spans multiple international institutions, reflecting the global importance of understanding plant stress responses for food security in changing climatic conditions.
