Prof. Sven Schmedes holds a professorship in Real Estate Management and Basics of Construction Engineering at bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences in Berlin. His expertise spans international project management, particularly in the Indian real estate market and sports facility construction. He previously worked at gmp Architekten and Foster + Partners, founding German Project Management India in 2009.
Education: Architecture studies at HTW Dresden, part-time PhD at Cardiff University's Welsh School of Architecture (2015), where he received an IOC Postgraduate Scholarship. His doctoral research focused on sustainability in Olympic Games infrastructure.
Research Interests: Sustainable design of sports stadiums, urban integration of stadium developments, and maximizing long-term urban benefits from major events. His work appears in Stadium and Arena Design (2015).
