Professor Sven-Oliver Proksch serves as Chair for European and Multilevel Politics at the Department of Political Science within the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Cologne. He is a Principal Investigator and Cluster member of ECONtribute: Markets and Public Policy since 2019, and leads the ERC Consolidator Project MINORITYRULE.
His research spans political representation, democratic institutions, party politics, and European governance, with methodological expertise in political text analysis and parliamentary debate studies. He employs computational approaches to examine political communication across digital and traditional platforms, particularly analyzing European party systems and legislative behavior.
