Sven Luetticken

Sven Lütticken is a Senior Lecturer at Leiden University’s Academy of Creative and Performing Arts (ACPA) and leads the research master's track Critical Studies in Art and Culture at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. His work bridges art history, critical theory, and contemporary aesthetic practices.

His research focuses on abstraction as an operational force in art, autonomy in aesthetic practices, and intersections of art, ideology, and capitalism. He explores how objects in art function as political and theoretical objections, analyzing materiality, value systems, and historical redefinition through media.
