Suzy Tutchell is an Associate Professor in Art Education at the University of Reading's Institute of Education, where she serves as Deputy Director for the Doctorate in Education Programme and Co-School Director for Racial Equity and Justice. Her research examines art education, collaborative practices, anti-racist pedagogy, and wellbeing through art.
Current research includes trauma-informed textile projects with migrant communities and wellbeing-focused school collaborations. Her publications analyze gender equity in art education and artistic identity development in teacher training programs.
Supervision includes doctoral research on creative practice in design education, storytelling in mathematics, and cultural leadership identities. She has led numerous community art projects addressing mental health and inclusion.
