Suzanne Richard McCarthy

Suzanne Richard McCarthy is a Part-Time Lecturer in English at Northeastern University's College of Social Sciences and Humanities, affiliated with the Writing Program. She has taught writing since 2005, previously at Mount Ida College and Newbury College. Her expertise includes composition, rhetoric, and pedagogy, supported by an M.A. in English Literature and Composition from Clemson University (Douglas Award for Teaching Excellence) and a B.A. from Wake Forest University.

Her research interests focus on writing pedagogy, academic writing, and professional communication, informed by her roles as a freelance editor for corporate professionals and grant writer for PAWS New England. She also advocates for libraries and animal welfare, having led the Friends of the Library of Hudson, NH (2011–2017), which earned the Sue Palmatier Award.

Professional Activities
