Suzanne Mohney is a Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at Pennsylvania State University, with a courtesy title in Electrical Engineering. She has been affiliated with Penn State since 2004, previously serving as Associate and Assistant Professor. Her research focuses on electronic and photonic materials, including semiconductors, 2D materials, and nanofabrication techniques. Key roles include Chair of the Intercollege Graduate Degree Program in Materials Science and Engineering (2013–2019) and leadership in the Electronic Materials Committee.
Education:
- Ph.D. in Materials Science, University of Wisconsin (1994)
- B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Washington University in St. Louis (1987, summa cum laude)
Research Interests: Synthesis and characterization of semiconductors, thin films, and nanostructured materials. Applications include high-temperature electronics, energy-efficient lighting, and microelectromechanical systems (MEMS). Collaborations span electrical engineering, physics, and industry partnerships.
