Suzanne Holm serves as Associate Professor in the Department of Rehabilitative & Health Sciences within Regis University's Rueckert-Hartman College for Health Professions. She joined the institution in 2015 as Academic Program Coordinator for the Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) distance-hybrid program, a collaborative initiative between Regis University and Creighton University targeting occupational therapy workforce shortages in elderly and rural Rocky Mountain communities.
Her professional focus centers on adult rehabilitation, with specialized expertise in rural healthcare access and elderly care delivery systems. She champions experiential learning methodologies where students develop through active participation, mistake-driven growth, and peer collaboration. Her educational philosophy—shaped by mentor Hooper (2010)—views teaching as an extension of the instructor's history and aspirations for authentic professional development, emphasizing ethical practice and community service commitment.
As architect of the Creighton-Regis OTD pathway, she leads a pioneering Jesuit university partnership designed to address critical practitioner shortages in underserved regions. This initiative reflects her dedication to expanding occupational therapy's reach through innovative hybrid education models while maintaining rigorous professional standards for ethical practitioner development.
