Suzann Lupton

Suzann Lupton is the Associate Dean of Student Services and Enrollment Management at the Paul H. O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University Indianapolis. She joined the faculty in 2010 after a legal career spanning public and private sectors, including roles as an attorney, Deputy Attorney General, and Supreme Court law clerk. Her research focuses on health philanthropy and the intersections between philanthropic institutions and governmental policies.

Education: Ph.D. in Philanthropic Studies from IUPUI (2020), J.D. from Indiana University School of Law (1991), B.A. in English from DePauw University (1988).

Research interests include nonprofit management, civic engagement, and the role of philanthropy in health systems. She has received awards for teaching excellence and pro bono contributions, including the Charles Whistler Pro Bono Publico Award (2007) and multiple Outstanding Performance Awards (SPEA, 2008-2009).

Her professional experience includes over a decade as an attorney at Baker & Daniels, adjunct teaching at the IU School of Law, and service on the Indiana Supreme Court Committee on Character and Fitness.
