Research interests include ecology, evolutionary biology, virology, plant biology, and microbial community dynamics. Current projects investigate urban rat disease ecology and Campylobacter pathogens in Helsinki. She has published extensively in journals like Proceedings of the Royal Society B, Current Biology, and Nature Communications, with a focus on co-infection effects, viral diversity, and parasite community assembly.
Notable awards include the LUOVA doctoral fellowship and the Pathobiome 2018 Best Poster award. She has supervised Master's theses and presented at international conferences such as ESEB 2019 and BES annual meeting 2018. Her work often integrates field studies, experimental approaches, and ecological modeling.
