Suvi Gezari is a Research Professor at the William H. Miller III Department of Physics & Astronomy within the Krieger School of Arts & Sciences at Johns Hopkins University. She is affiliated with the Maria Mitchell Observatory and the Aspen Center for Physics. Her research focuses on supermassive black holes, nuclear transients, and time-domain astrophysics using UV/optical observations.
Education: PhD in Physics from Columbia University.
Research Highlights: Pioneering observational studies of tidal disruption events (TDEs), leveraging surveys like GALEX, Pan-STARRS1, ZTF, and upcoming missions UVEX (2030) and ULTRASAT (2028). Leads science teams for NASA missions, including UVEX and the High-Energy X-ray Probe (HEX-P).
